Q: What season is lacrosse played? A: Lacrosse is a spring sport which is played principally from March through mid -June.
Q: How are the teams divided? A: BOYS: Grades 1-2: Grades 3-4: Grades 5-6: Grades 7-8: GIRLS: Grades 1-2: Grades 3-4: Grades 5-6: Grades 7-8
Q: When does the Spring season start? A: Preseason skill clinics (optional but recomended) on Saturdays in March. The regular season will begin in early April, subject to field availability.
Q: Where do we practice? A: That depends on the program. FLYL uses the field behind the Pound Ridge ES, the Rippowam School (Clinton Road) Bedford Hills Memorial Park and Fox Lane High School.
Q: Where are away games for travel? A: All different locations in Westchester and Connecticut. (See the DIRECTIONS on the website home page.)

Q: What if I want a refund? A: Refund requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. Refunds requested because of medical concerns/injuries will require a written letter from a doctor. Other situations will be considered by the board and the club president.
Q: How does our family register? A: Go to the website. Sign up online. Online registration offers a secure credit card transaction. FLYL prefers Visa and Mastercard. You will then receive an email confirming your registration. That note will include contact information and important dates.
Q: What is U.S. Lacrosse? A: The national governing body of men's and women's lacrosse. All players must be current members of U.S. Lacrosse upon registering for the FLYL programs. Their website is: http://www.uslacrosse.org.
Q: What are the major differences between Boys and Girls lacrosse? A: In Boys' lacrosse, body contact is allowed above 4th Grade and checking sticks are allowed. In Girls' lacrosse, no body contact allowed and modified stick checking at the 7th/8th grade level only.

Q: What equipment do we need? A: GIRLS EQUIPMENT: Lacrosse Stick, Eye protection and Mouth Guard. Wood and plastic sticks are both fine.
BOYS EQUIPMENT: Lacrosse Stick, Helmet, Shoulder Pads, Arm Guards, Gloves, Mouth Guard, and Athletic Supporter With Cup. Rib pads are optional but recommended. Footwear is personal choice; please wear sneakers in the gym, cleats are best on the grass. Please note that hockey helmets are sufficient for the Bantam and developmental programs. We suggest that FLYL players avoid sticks that have narrow (“pinched”) heads as these sticks are designed for extremely advanced players Q: Where do we get our equipment?
